Brain cancer

Brain tumors are among the most devastating forms of cancer, with a poor 5-year survival rate of only 32%. Among these, glioblastoma is the most aggressive type. Despite intensive multimodal treatment—including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy—patients face a median overall survival of just 14–16 months after diagnosis. Tumor progression is inevitable, and there are no well-defined treatment options once the tumor recurs.

Given this dire prognosis and the lack of effective therapies, the 4Brain lab is focused on developing novel and more effective treatment strategies for glioblastoma. In parallel, we are creating advanced methods to realistically model brain tumors in the laboratory and in animal models, allowing us to test new therapies under conditions that closely reflect the situation in patients.
